Destinations

TIGERFISH being indigenous to Africa is our strongest market for local and international clients. We offer a range of rustic to five-star venues on the Zambezi River from Angola in the west to Mozambique in the east. Tigers are one of the world’s most ferocious freshwater species testing the angler whether they choose to fish with fly, spinner, drift or live-bait.

The Zambezi River runs for 3600km from Angola in the west to Mozambique in the east. This beautiful river offers five-star lodges from the Barotse Flood Plains in Western Zambia to the Zambezi Valley in the east. Most stretches of this river offer large concentrations of game in some of the most fascinating bushveld Africa has to offer.

Big 5 also offers an exclusive houseboat trip through some of the best tiger fishing waters available. The houseboat covers a distance of 160 km over a period of five days and incorporates the world heritage site, Mana Pools and The Lower Zambezi National Park.

In addition to the mighty Zambezi River, we offer world-class fishing in the Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania and in our home waters of the Pongola River and Dam in Northern Kwa-Zulu Natal.

Tanzania is renowned as one of the most remote fishing locations in a 55 000 square kilometre national park. We have operators on the Manyera, River, Ruhudji River and The Kilombero River who offer guided fishing on over 100 km of pristine and unspoiled river.

The INDIAN OCEAN offers some of the best saltwater fishing in the world. Our Indian Ocen venues offer pristine white beaches, atolls with tidal flats, remote estuaries and world-class offshore fishing for GT’s, billfish and many other warm water species.

Mozambique offers several archipelagos including Bazaruto, Primeiras and Quirimbas Archipelagos with numerous locations to choose from.

If it is a “ live aboard” charter you are looking for, we have several boats and catamarans in Mozambique, Tanzania, Zanzibar and Madagascar. All charter companies are experienced and offer our clients the best possible chance at catching large pelagic off remote reefs and subsurface banks.
