Tiger Camp

TIGER CAMP / BAROTSE FLOOD PLAINS / ZAMBIA

This up-market fishing camp was designed for the fishing enthusiast. Owned and managed by Gerard Simpson, Tiger Camp offers guests some of the best fishing opportunities on the Upper Zambezi River.

Situated a few kilometres down river from the small town of Lukulu on the Barotse Flood Plains, this venue offers unparalleled tiger fishing between the months of April and November when the larger tigerfish feed on the smaller fish being swept off the flood plain into the main stream of the Zambezi River.

With the high water levels subsiding after the rain season the area also offers superb bream fishing in the reed banks fringing the flood plains.

The luxury camp has seven stylishly appointed tented chalets with en-suite facilities and crisp linen on the comfortable beds.

The sophisticated lounge area boasts leather couches and wooden tables under a high pitched canvas tent overlooking the river.

Tiger Camp is renowned for the exquisite cuisine offered in this natural wilderness. Each guest returns with stories of the unbelievable meals enjoyed in the bush.

Gerard has equipped the lodge with several boats designed for fishing this area. Each boat has a skipper / guide who is well steeped in fishing with fly and light tackle for these large tigerfish and bream.

Although this venue is not too easily accessible, it is definitely worth a visit if you are looking for that 20 lb + tiger fish.
