At Impalila you have the choice of fishing off boats or take advantage of the unique rapid fishing from a Mokoro dug-out canoe in the traditional Tiger fishing style. Bream are also in plentiful supply. Although Tiger fish are aggressive feeders throughout the year, fly fishing is best from August until November as it is very hot and the river is at its lowest. Explore the water ways by means of the silent, stealthy Mokoro or take an adventurous guided walk through the wild islands. Birding in the area is spectacular, offering astonishing sightings of rare birds as the Pel's Fishing Owl's, Violet Widowfinch's and Western Banded Snake Eagles among many others. Float down the river at sunset, sundowner in hand, enjoying frequent sightings of elephant, crocodile, buffalo, hippo and various species of antelope.
