WILDERNESS PLACE LODGE

This charming lodge is on the banks of Lake Creek River in Southern Alaska, 80 air miles North West of Anchorage and a short 50 min flight from Lake Hood in a float plane.
60 miles north of this lodge lies Lake Cheletna, Mount McKinley, The Alaskan Range and the renowned Denali National Park.
Wilderness Place is hidden on the wooded banks of Lake Creek a few miles up river from the glacial Yentna River. Sleeping a maximum of 14 guests, this remote venue offers comfortable accommodation, exquisite cuisine and a relaxed atmosphere where guests can relax between fishing sessions on the river.
The five chalets are built on the edge of the forest overlooking the river. The central living area consists of a dining area, a bar and a comfortable lounge where guests can enjoy an evening drink around the cosy log fire.
All meals are prepared by a cordon bleu chef with three course meals being the order of the day.
Several outboard jet boats are skippered by experienced fishing guides who return to Lake Creek each year in the quest for a record salmon. This freestone river fishery is the temporary and permanent home to several salmon species in addition to various other species of fish.
The salmon season produces king, sockeye, pink, silver and chum salmon in addition to trout, arctic greyling and northern pike. Salmon are seasonal with the trout, greyling and pike being permanent residents in the river system. Spin or fly fishermen are warned to keep their eyes open for grizzly bears and moose while wading the rapids of the creek. This is truly a natural wilderness that will keep you coming back for the salmon run each year.

Wilderness Place Lodge is reasonably prices and offers some of the best Alaskan fishing during the summer months. Once in Anchorage all accommodation and air charters are arranged by the lodge and included in the package rates.
